Tamaqua police released information on two recent domestic disturbances.

On Jan. 3, at 8:51 p.m., officers went to the 200 block of Schuylkill Avenue for a report of neighbors breaking the resident’s items. Jennifer Hosier, 41, said her neighbors were banging on her door, had broken some chairs and knocked over an ashtray on the porch.

The neighbors were contacted and told officers about the loud music that was played in Hosier’s home and that she had thrown the porch chair at one of their vehicles. Hosier then admitted throwing the chair. She was told to turn down the music and stay inside.

Nearly an hour later, officers were called back to the home, where Hosier said the neighbors were banging on her door and wall. The neighbors said they were trying to get her to turn down the volume on her music, which was making it impossible for their infant to sleep.

All parties were given warnings and advised to record any further disturbances as evidence.

Thirty minutes later officers went back and watched and listened to video of Hosier playing really loud music and banging on her neighbor’s door.

She was taken to the police station, as she was determined to be intoxicated.She was cited for disorderly conduct.

Gregory Scott Ward, 58, of Tamaqua, was charged with simple assault and harassment after he reportedly punched his girlfriend’s sister’s boyfriend on Jan. 4. The victim was bleeding heavily from the nose and had trouble breathing.

Ward admitted striking him with a closed hand and then grabbed him by the neck as a result of a disagreement between the two men.

Ward was arraigned and placed in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, in lieu of $10,000 straight bail.
