State police at Lehighton are investigating a criminal homicide that occurred at a Carbon County residence.

Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller said he was called to the home in the 4500 block of Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township on Thursday.

Police said the incident happened sometime between 7 a.m. and 5:52 p.m. on Thursday.

Troopers said the bodies of Megan Leland, 26, of that address, and Kyle Gruver, 27, of Fleetwood, Berks County, were found in the home.

Gruver is listed as the offender in the incident. No other detailed were released.

“This appears to be an isolated incident and anyone with information concerning the above individuals should contact” troopers, the report said.

Troopers added, “There is no known immediate threat to the public safety.”

Troopers said the state police Troop N major case team was activated and is conducting the investigation. Troopers did not release any other details as of press time.
