A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 8:52 p.m. on Jan. 12 at the intersection of Cetronia Road and Timber Trail, in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County.
Township police said Michelle K. Billman, 50, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2007 Kia Rio westbound on Cetronia Road and made a 90-degree turn to the left at the intersection and failed to safely negotiate the turn. The Rio left the road and struck several boulders. Billman was not injured.
She was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a blood test. The test result showed a 0.22 blood alcohol count. In addition to DUI, she was also charged with a summary traffic offense, police said.
