Carbon County court – thefts
A Northampton woman was sentenced to a county prison term on Friday in Carbon County court on theft counts she previously admitted to.
She was one of two defendants sentenced by Judge Steven R. Serfass on theft counts.
Three counts
Allesha Marie Moyer
, 29, was sentenced to serve one day less one year to one day less two years in prison on two counts of theft and one of criminal conspiracy to commit theft.
She was arrested on Jan. 25, 2018, by Lehighton police for taking jewelry from a residence along South Second Street.
The second arrest occurred on Feb. 6, 2018, filed by state police at Lehighton for an incident along Lehigh Avenue in Palmerton.
The third arrest occurred on March 7, 2018, in Palmerton, also along Lehigh Avenue. She took cellphones in the other two incidents.
The jewelry that was stolen was later sold at a pawnshop.
Moyer admitted to a drug addiction problem. She also has outstanding charges pending in Lehigh County.
Serfass also ordered her to make restitution of $724.50, get both mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations, have no contact with any of the victims and render a total of 200 hours of community service.
She was given credit for 317 days already spent in prison on the charges.
Diamonds rings taken
Christine Seip
, 40, of Catasauqua, was placed on probation for 24 months on a charge of theft.
She was charged by state police at Fern Ridge with her part in the theft of two diamond rings from a residence along Arapahoe Road in Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, on Nov. 19, 2016. The rings were recovered.
She was also ordered to render 100 hours of community service.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
