New shows announced at Penn’s Peak

Penn’s Peak announced three new shows today.

Boat House Row — Yacht Rock Experience sails into the Peak at 8 p.m. March 16, performing their highly polished brand of soft rock emanating from Southern California between 1976 and 1984. The term “yacht rock” is meant to suggest the kind of smooth, mellow music that early yuppies likely enjoyed while sipping Champagne on their yachts. Significant “yacht rockers” include Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Cross, Steely Dan, Toto and more.

Unforgettable Fire and 42 (U2 and Coldplay tribute bands) take the Penn’s Peak stage at 8 p.m. April 13.

Unforgettable Fire, or “UF,” was born on New Year’s Day in 1995 as one of the very first U2 tribute bands to ever perform in America. After 20 years of playing in some of the most prestigious venues on the East Coast, UF has formed a reputation among many to be one of the closest experiences to being at an actual live U2 show. The members of UF are also very dedicated fans of U2, and will not settle for anything less than complete authenticity.

Members of 42, a tribute to Coldplay, say they pour themselves into every song and performance out of their genuine love for Coldplay and their music. The raw energy and emotion they devote to each song is sincere and they’re insanely humbled to have the opportunity to bring this to live stages all across the world.

Tommy James and The Shondells return to Penn’s Peak at 8 p.m. July 20. James netted 23 gold records, 9 platinum albums and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, including “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” “I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Hanky Panky,” “Crimson & Clover” and more.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at all Ticketmaster outlets, the Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant and Bar. Penn’s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant ticket sales are walk-up only, no phone orders.
