Eight first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program this week by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, his record is wiped clean. However, if he fails to complete it, or is revoked from it, then he would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Jiovani E. Adorno Jr.

, 29, of Lehighton, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on Dec. 17, 2017, along Second Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $650 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Heavenly Radea Dailey

, 19, of Weissport, was placed on a charge of access device fraud for a period of 18 months. She was charged by Lehighton police for an incident involving a borough female as the victim and the illegal use of her credit card.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 75 hours of community service and make restitution to the credit card company for $728.04.

William Albert Effrig

, of Bristol, Bucks County, was placed on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on April 29, 2018, by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop at Red Ridge Trail and Mountain Road in Penn Forest Township.

He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.

Holly Mae Keiper

, 21, of Nesquehoning, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. She was arrested on Aug. 13, 2018, by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 209 and Willow Road in Franklin Township.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Michael Koschak

, 45, of Lansford, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Nov. 25, 2017, by Lehighton police along Route 443. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $650 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Michael Hans Mariani

, 40, of Lansford, was placed on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on June 16, 2016, by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop along Route 248 eastbound at the Parryville exit.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Sara A. Stone

, 27, of Bangor, was placed for six months on an identity theft charge. She was arrested by Palmerton police for an incident involving the credit card of a borough male.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.

Sabrina Crespo

, 25, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of terroristic threats. She was arrested on Nov. 19, 2018, by Lehighton police for an incident involving a borough female as the victim.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a mental health evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program, and those charged with DUI must follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
