Food pantry

The food pantry for Palmerton Area families in need will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road Palmerton on Jan. 25. The CACPAC-sponsored pantry serves household in Palmerton, Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships, and the Palmerton Area School District including Bowmanstown.

The Palmerton Food Bank is always in need of canned good, nonperishable food items and monetary donations. If you can help, please bring food item to any CACPAC member. Most area churches collect on a regular basis.

Senior Center

The Palmerton Senior Center, 501 Delaware Ave., Palmerton (Ambulance Building), serves lunch daily at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. For lunch reservations call the day before by 9:30 a.m. Call 610-826-4505.

Activities include pinochle, penny games and bingo.

Art show and lunch

An art show and lunch sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will be held at the Palmerton Area Library from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 27. View and purchase work by local artists and enjoy a delicious lunch. Tickets are $7 each. Call the library at 610-826-3424 for information.

Preschool story hour

Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave. hold Preschool Story Hour at 10:30 a.m. every Friday during the school year. It is free and open to the public.

Breakfast

An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 20 at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, toast, cereal, hash, ham, bacon sausage, OJ, coffee, tea and milk. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for kids 10 and under.

Wing, taco and clam specials are every Wednesday night from 5-8 p.m. Dinner is served every Friday night from 4-8 p.m.

Borough council

A regular meeting of the Palmerton Borough Council will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 in the Borough Hall Council Chambers, 443 Delaware Ave.

Card shower

Cassandra Marsh was in an accident in early December and is in serious condition. Her family felt a card shower would cheer her and give her encouragement. The address is: 2nd Floor Critical Care Unit, Room 207, Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, 1200 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, PA 18103.
