Brandon Frey, 18, of Brooks Drive, Lehighton, was charged by Summit Hill police with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 1:22 a.m. Dec. 7 at the intersection of Laurel and White Bear drives.

Police said Frey was stopped for a vehicle equipment violation when police saw a book bag in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle and book bag yielded eight baggies containing a residue, four baggies containing a crystal-like substance, three syringes and a digital scale.

Police said Frey admitted the book bag was his. A field test of the substance determined it was 2.1 grams of methamphetamine.
