A 23-year-old Gilbert man was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, on Sunday after state police at the Lehighton barracks responded to a domestic disturbance that turned physical at 8:57 a.m. at Weir Mountain and Doney roads in Polk Township.
Troopers responded to a domestic disturbance in progress between the 23-year-old and a 49-year-old man, also from Gilbert.
The 23-year-old was taken into custody after a verbal altercation turned physical with the suspect striking the older man with a metal stake.
Police said the man is awaiting arraignment.
