At last night’s meeting of the Carbon County-Panther Valley Unit, American Cancer Society, in Edgemont Lodge, Lansford, it was revealed that more than 400 families in this area have been surveyed as part of the cancer research program.
The volunteers filed confidential questionnaires, which will be forwarded to research scientists at the National Cancer headquarters in New York City.
Heading the survey were Dr. Gordon Weaver, Tamaqua, president of the county unit; attorney Daniel Minnick, Nesquehoning, vice president; and Mrs. Quentin Miller, Summit Hill, executive director.
