A Pennsylvania Game Commission officer was assaulted Saturday in Schuylkill County.
State Police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident happened at 10 a.m. in a wooded area off Peach Mountain Road in Norwegian Township.
The commission received a complaint about a violation and went to the scene to question two men on all terrain vehicles. The two began to fight with the officer and he discharged one round from his duty weapon.
The suspects fled on the ATVs and the officer was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill Medical East campus.
The first suspect is described as white male, between 5 foot, 7 inches and 5 foot, 9 inches. He is between 50 to 60 years old, with long gray hair and a long gray goatee secured with rubber bands.
The second suspect is described as white male, between 5 foot, 7 inches and 5 foot, 9 inches. He is between 50 to 60 years old, with gray facial hair. He was wearing a white ATV helmet during the altercation.
They were not dressed in hunting attire, but wore ATV attire.
One ATV was described as yellow and black and the other was white and silver, possibly a Yamaha.
