Neighbors in the Heights section of Jim Thorpe gathered Friday night for their annual dinner to recognize veterans in the community.
The dinner was started by Dave Gasker, and the Neighbors on the Hill Facebook group assisted for the second year. They helped with supplying, serving, cleaning up and even delivering takeout meals for some veterans who could not make it.
Thirteen veterans attended this year.
The food and desserts were made by the volunteers.
After dinner each veteran told their story and their experiences in the service.
This year the dinner was moved to the home of Sandy and Bernie Schweibenz to accommodate a larger crowd.
