One man is dead as the result of a crash Saturday afternoon in Lake Harmony.
Kidder Township police said James J. Boyle, 24, of Albrightsville, was killed Saturday in a crash just before 4:30 p.m.
Police said Boyle was one of three passengers in the vehicle.
According to reports on the scene, the car was traveling east on South Lake Shore road at an apparent high rate of speed.
The driver, whose name has not been released, failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway, crossing both lanes and entering the berm, destroying several structures and a tree before coming to rest.
Rescue personnel of the Lake Harmony Fire Company worked to free Boyle from the wreckage. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Carbon County deputy coroner.
South Lake Shore Drive was closed for several hours.
Kidder Township police said the crash is under investigation and more details will be released later today.
They asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call police at 570-722-0192.
