A family escaped from their burning home in Chestnuthill Township early Friday morning.
The call came in just before 2 a.m. for 120 Lizzie Lane, off Gilbert Road.
The fire is believed to have started in the garage and spread to the house.
Flames were shooting through the roof when emergency crews arrived.
The parents and three children managed to get out. The family cat was lost in the blaze.
After the roof began to sag, Chestnuthill Township brought an excavator to clear the property.
Responding to the scene were West End Volunteer Fire Company, Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company, Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company, Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder and West End Ambulance.
