Four area students will perform this weekend in the play “Willy Wonka Jr.” at the Pennsylvania Theatre of Performing Arts, 212 W. Broad St. in Hazleton.
Cadi Fannock, a sixth-grade student at Tamaqua Area Middle School, is Mr. Bucket; Livia Miller, a seventh-grade student at Tamaqua Area Middle School, is Grandma Josephina; Brenna McAndrew, a sixth-grade student at Panther Valley Intermediate School, is Mike Teavee; and Emily Albert, a freshman at Tamaqua Area High School, is Mrs. Gloop.
Outside of a Golden Ticket, the most magical ticket on the planet might be one to this musical stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
Loaded with Oompa-Loompas, chocolate rivers, wacky inventions and edible masterpieces, “Willy Wonka Jr.” is candy for the eyes, ears and spirit. Follow young Charlie Bucket as he wins his way inside the world’s most mysterious chocolate factory, run by the wondrous Mr. Wonka.
Featuring an all-youth cast and cherished songs like “Pure Imagination” and “The Candyman,” this delectable production from Lopez Studios is perfect for both young and young at heart.
