Three area businesses have been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the state liquor code.
Sapore Restaurant, 99 E. Bridge St., Lehighton, Carbon County, was cited for on Oct. 8 for furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor.
Mountain Laurel Resort & Spa, 81 Treetops Drive, White Haven, Kidder Township, Carbon County, was cited on Sept. 1, 2, 6 and 7 for selling alcoholic beverages after the hotel liquor license expired on Aug. 31 and had not been renewed and/or validated.
Amber Steakhouse, Pocono Township, Monroe County, was cited for on Sept. 21 for furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor.
These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on the severity of the charge brought.
