Two Tamaqua area students will be performing in DM Performance Works Factory Theatre’s production of the musical, “13.”
Olivia Stettler, a junior at Marian Catholic High School, will be playing Patrice, and Makayla Kester, a freshman at Tamaqua Area High School, will be playing Cassie.
“13” follows the story of Evan Goldman, whose life seems full of possibilities — that is, until his parents get divorced, and he is forced to move with his mom from big-city New York to podunk Appleton, Indiana.
As Evan navigates the world of cool kids and nerds, jocks and cheerleaders, first kisses and heartbreak, he comes to understand “What it Means to Be a Friend” from Patrice, the nerdy girl who befriended him from the start.
With a bright, catchy pop score from Jason Robert Brown, equal doses of humor and pathos, and a cast of wildly talented teens, “13” is irresistible to grown-ups and almost grown-ups alike.
Performances are at 7 o’clock tonight, Friday and Saturday; and 2 p.m. Sunday.
The theater is located at 15 School St. in Nuremburg. Tickets are: adults $15 and children (ages 3-14) $12.
