Library story hour
Panther Valley Public Library will hold preschool story hour at 10 a.m. every Tuesday through Dec. 18. Children ages 3-5 are invited to join us for a story, craft and snack. This program is free of charge.
No registration is necessary, just drop by the library to enjoy this fun-filled hour. For more information, call the library 570-645-3780.
Medicare
The Panther Valley Public Library will be providing assistance to seniors during open enrollment for Medicare.
You may be able to save money on your Medicare and prescription drug costs. We suggest you review your plan each year and we can help you. We will be offering this service at the library 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 17, Oct. 31, Nov 14 and Nov 28.
Appointments must be scheduled through the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging. To schedule an appointment please call 800-441-1315.
Senior center
The menu at the Panther Valley Senior Center for the week of Oct. 22-26 is:
Monday: Pork chop, halushki, carrots, pudding or chicken Caesar salad
Tuesday: Chicken a la king, brown rice, broccoli, pears or Italian sandwich
Wednesday: Chicken rice soup, Waldorf salad with chicken, bean salad, roll, rice krispie treat
Thursday: Shepherds pie, peas and carrots, roll orange or meatloaf sandwich
Friday: Fish Florentine, scalloped potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower, roll, cookie or chef salad with turkey
The Panther Valley Senior Center has also announced upcoming events for Oct. 22-Nov. 2.
Poker-Keeno on Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.; Put and Take on Oct. 23 at 11 a.m.; Candy Bingo on Oct. 24 at 11 a.m.; Cornhole on Oct. 25 at 11 a.m.; Bus Trip to the Hollywood Casino on Oct. 26, bus leaves at 10 a.m.
Card Games on Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.; Bingo on Oct. 30 at 11 a.m.; Halloween Party on Oct. 31 at 11 a.m.; Nickel-Keeno on Nov. 1 at 11 a.m.; Cornhole on Nov. 2 at 11 a.m.
