Dear Editor:
With the gubernatorial election approaching, pundits are gazing upon Schuylkill County. More so than anywhere else, the results here augur the statewide outcome.
Four years ago, we and the commonwealth chose Tom Wolf because he campaigned as an outsider. But what a wolf in sheep’s clothing he turned out to be! Just six months into his term, Wolf was designated as “the most liberal governor” by the nonpartisan Inside Government.
Wolf picked a transsexual for the post of Physician General who, like her boss, supports abortion on demand, gay marriage and the removal of “mother” and “father” from birth certificates. Most infamously, Wolf for the past four years has brought state government to a grinding halt by holding the taxpayers hostage while trying to extort the Legislature to advance his radical fiscal agenda.
How radical? Consider that Wolf’s first budget included a tax hike larger than that proposed by his fellow governors in all other 49 states combined. When this tax hike was considered by the Legislature, it was defeated 193-0.
No wonder Wolf won’t agree to the customary three debates with his opponent, Republican businessman Scott Wagner, a Trump protégé. This November, let’s correct our mistake from four years ago.
