Liquor board cites Carbon bar

A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violations of the liquor code.

Ruby’s Saloon, 298 Bridge St., Lehighton was cited on May 15 for giving an inducement to purchase alcoholic beverages and offering more than one specific type of alcoholic beverage or drink at a reduced price as part of the daily drink special.

On June 29 and July 20, the saloon failed to adhere to the conditions of the agreement entered into with the liquor board placing additional restrictions upon the subject license.

Charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones.

In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation of the license based on he severity of the charge brought.
