Fugitive Christy returning for Pa. hearing

Shawn R. Christy, the McAdoo man who eluded law enforcement for more than three months after threatening to shoot President Donald Trump and Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli in the head, is coming back to Pennsylvania from Ohio this month.

“He’s scheduled to be returned by Oct. 16,” said U.S. Marshal Brian Fitzgibbon, Cleveland, Ohio.

Fitzgibbon said Christy, who is in federal custody, would be sent to Scranton, although it is not known where he will be housed.

According to federal prison records, he is currently being held in Oklahoma.

Christy, whose flight from justice took him through six states before he was captured near Mansfield, Ohio, on Sept. 21, faces federal, state, and local charges.

He was armed with a gun and a large knife when he was caught.

Christy, 26, was on the run for three months, pursued by local, state, and federal authorities since June 12 after failing to appear for jury selection for his trial on charges he attacked the McAdoo mayor with a stick during an argument about snow removal.

Christy added to his woes when he posted on his Facebook page threatening Trump and Morganelli, and threatening to kill police.
