October 11, 1975 — Ricky Kuhn breaks loose for 222 yards rushing and three touchdowns to power Jim Thorpe to a 29-0 victory over Freeland. Kuhn opens the scoring in the first quarter when he races 46 yards to the end zone during the Olympians’ initial drive. Kuhn adds TD runs of 24 and 25 yards in the second half to help Thorpe, coached by Barry Hackenberg, seal the contest. The winners also receive a 2-yard scoring run from Mike Skrimcovsky. The Olympian defense forces five turnovers, including a key interception by Jimmy McElhenney, in posting the shutout.
