Monroe Courthouse reopened following threat

Monroe County Courthouse was reopened after a bomb threat was determined to be unfounded, according to Sheriff Todd Martin.

The courthouse was evacuated around 9 a.m. after the county 911 center received a threat stating there were four bombs located in the building.

It's the sixth time this year the courthouse has been evacuated. See Tuesday's Times News for a full story.

Monroe County Courthouse remains closed after an evacuation this morning.

According to an update on the court’s website, the building will remain closed until at least 1:30 p.m.

The building was reportedly evacuated around 8:45 a.m.

The court website initially said check back for updates at 11 a.m.

Court administrator John Goldner said the next update would occur at 1:30 p.m. and people with business at the courthouse should check the court’s website (monroepacourts.us).

Goldner referred additional questions to Sheriff Todd Martin, who was unavailable.
