Preschool Story Hour
Preschool Story Hour is held every Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Palmerton Area Library. This is free and open to the public.
Jerusalem UCC
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) has returned to the regular Sunday worship services. The contemporary service is at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. is the traditional service. Adult Sunday school has resumed at 9 a.m.
The 4th Friday Fellowship will be a wine and cheese campfire in the church grove. Bring your favorite beverage and snacks and a lawn chair. Everyone is welcome at 6 p.m. Sept. 28.
Charley Brown Nursery
The Charley Brown Nursery School, located at the First United Church of Christ, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton is still accepting applications. Please call 610-349-7532 for more information.
Homework Helpers
Homework helpers for grades 1 to 8 are held at the Palmerton Area Library Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4 p.m. Volunteer tutors will help your child with homework and other assignments. It is free, but parents must register each child.
American Legion
Palmerton American Legion Post 269 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the VFW Post 2020, Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. The group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month.
Persian Donut Sale
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) is holding a Persian Donut Sale. Please call the church at 610-681-5200 or Shirley at 610-681-5403 to place orders. Cost is $1.25 each. All orders are due by Sept. 30. Pickup is Oct. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Electronics recycling
From 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27, Electronics Recycling Day will be held at the Palmerton Borough Garage, 402 Third St. Please see post on borough website for information on what is accepted for free and the cost to recycle larger items.
Community meal
A free community meal will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 27. All are invited to enjoy a meal and fellowship.
Food pantry
The Food Pantry for Palmerton Area families in need will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton. The CACPAC-sponsored pantry serves households in Palmerton, Towamensing and Lower Towamensing townships, and the Palmerton Area School District including Bowmanstown.
The food bank is in need of canned goods, nonperishable food items and monetary donations. If you can help, please bring food items to any CACPAC member. Most area churches collect on a regular basis.
