Franklin Township plans to apply for funding for equipment for its fire department.
On a unanimous vote, supervisors on Tuesday adopted a resolution requesting a Local Share Account grant in the amount of $133,898
After the meeting, township fire Chief Lynn Diehl said the grant would be used to purchase a utility truck trailer and fire rescue utility vehicle.
“It would be to haul back equipment after a call,” Diehl said.
A letter of support was also requested from the fire company.
Security camera
Also on Tuesday, supervisors approved the purchase of a security camera system with accessories for the township police department office, along with computer consulting services such as installation, configuration and setup.
The cost for everything is $1,855, and will be paid for from out of the township’s capital projects reserve building fund.
