Judge Albert H. Heimbach has handed down an order in Carbon County Court appointing Stephen Kanuch, 209-211 W. Ridge St., Lansford, to serve the unexpired term of the late Robert Hollar, Summit Hill, as a jury commissioner in the county.

The appointment was made on the recommendation of the Carbon County Republican Party executive committee.

Kanuch’s name will be placed on the Nov. 2 general election ballot as the substituted nominee for that office, replacing Hollar who won the nomination in the primary election but who died recently.

Kanuch and Democrat Stephen Student, Lansford, are assured election in November.
