WILKINSBURG (AP) — A suspect has been charged in the death of a man found slain in an abandoned western Pennsylvania building.
Allegheny County homicide investigators say a call about shots fired Monday evening sent Wilkinsburg police and paramedics to an abandoned building where an 18-year-old man was found shot in the head. The county medical examiner’s office said 18-year-old Khalil Andrew Logan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said 18-year-old Dashere Davenport was arrested nearby and told police that he thought the victim was pulling a gun, so he drew first and fired. Investigators said there was no evidence that Logan was armed. Davenport is charged with homicide, evidence-tampering and weapons violations.
Court documents don’t list an attorney for Davenport and a listed number for him couldn’t be found Tuesday.
