Local real estate professionals are in the process of forming a board of realtors in Carbon County. The proposed board has already received state approval to become the 53rd Board of Realtors in Pennsylvania.

Final approval is expected by the National Association Board of Realtors at its convention in New Orleans later this year.

Currently, Carbon County has five real estate brokers who are members of the Pocono Mountain Board of Realtors and who are moving forward with the formation of the county board.

They include Gene Durigan of Gene Durigan Real Estate, Luther Getz of Getz Real Estate, George Shinsec of Kohler-Marvin Realty Associates, Wilbur Person of the Person Agency and Vince Gilotti of Overlook Realty.
