The opening meeting of the Palmerton Area Democratic Club will be “Remembering 9/11 with a Tribute to our Veterans and First Responders” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Palmerton Hotel, 302 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.

Capping the program will be a keynote address by Denny Wolff, candidate for the newly formed 9th Congressional District. The program is free and open to the public.

Before the meeting at 6 p.m., local veterans, police officers, firefighters and EMTs are invited to reserve a complimentary ticket to the customary social hour as guests. Reserve a ticket by contacting Reservations Coordinator Susan Olivia at solivia@ptd.net or 610-826-7975. To aid planning, club members are also asked to call Olivia to reserve tickets.

Meetings are held monthly, the second Tuesday of the month, September through May at the Palmerton Hotel. Newcomers are welcome.
