Couple found in condemned house

Tamaqua police issued several citations to people trespassing on other’s property this month.

Two people were found sleeping in a condemned property on Aug. 16 after a neighbor called police to report the smell of smoke coming from 423 Hazle St.

Officers went to the home and found Robyn Lynn Erney, 26, and Michael Mattox, 26, both listing home addresses on East Elm Street in Tamaqua, in a front bedroom. The home was posted as condemned on July 26.

They were removed from the house and cited for defiant trespass.

On Aug. 17 police went to the Access Services building at 217 Center St. at 1:02 p.m. There, employees reported that a woman pulled up to the building’s dumpsters and proceeded to take two white garbage bags from her red Nissan Pathfinder. Despite employees telling her not to throw the bags in the dumpster, the woman did just that.

Employees were able to provide a license plate number and a search of the tossed bags discovered information identifying Susan Sabb, 53, of Arlington Street, Tamaqua.

She was cited for defiant trespass.
