Pleasant Valley schools closed for mold remediation

Pleasant Valley School District has closed its schools on Monday after mold was discovered in several locations throughout the district.

According to a statement posted on the district Facebook page Thursday evening, "All Pleasant Valley Schools will be closed for students on Monday, Aug. 27.  The district is currently working with a national abatement company to restore our buildings to safe environments.

"Although we are still coordinating the plan for next week, we wanted to provide parents with as much notice as possible to arrange for child care.  Please continue to check our website and social media accounts for updates.

"Faculty and staff should check their district email for instructions regarding Monday."

Pleasant Valley first announced mold had been found in some of the buildings on Wednesday and had canceled activites at the intermediate school for the rest of the week.
