The Jim Thorpe and Pleasant Valley girls tennis teams kicked off their seasons with victories on Monday.

Lehighton, Weatherly and Palmerton also picked up wins in golf action.

Tamaqua-Jim Thorpe

Jim Thorpe opened the season with a 4-1 victory over Tamaqua.

Leanne Van Essendelft outlasted Brooke Williams in a tiebreaker at No. 1 singles for the Olympians, winning 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-4), 8-6.

Miranda Chinchar won in straight sets at No. 3 singles for the Raiders.
