Each of the public libraries in our readership area will change their hours or services from Aug. 13-15 while their files are transferred to the new SPARK catalog, an important step toward joining the Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative. Some local libraries have chosen to close for the three-day transfer. Others will remain open but have limited services during that time.
Here’s what the four public libraries joining the LCLC plan to do next week:
Jim Thorpe
Dimmick Memorial Library will be closed Aug. 13-15. No materials are due during this time, but they can be returned to the drop box at the front of the property.
Lehighton
The Lehighton Area Memorial Library will be open normal hours Aug. 13-15 with limited services.
They will be unable to register new patrons or renew materials but will check out new books and DVDs. No materials are due during the changeover. Patrons are asked to not return items during the changeover if possible.
Palmerton
Palmerton Area Library will be closed Aug. 13-15. No materials are due during this time, but books and other materials can be returned to the drop box in front of the library.
Slatington
The Slatington Public Library will be open normal hours Aug. 13-15 with limited services. They will be unable to register new patrons or renew materials. No books or DVDs are due during the changeover.
