Fundraiser

The 55 & Alive group at Jerusalem UCC, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville are selling “Streak-Less” cloths that are reusable, eco-friendly and made in the USA. Available through the church office at 610-681-4421 or a member of the group. Proceeds benefit local nonprofit groups.

Park concert

The Sunday in the Park concert on Aug. 12 will be by the Hazleton Band. The sponsor is Harry Brown. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. in the Palmerton Borough Park Bandstand. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of wonderful music. All are welcome.

In case of bad weather the concert will be canceled with no rain date. No alcohol or smoking is permitted in the park.

Holy Trinity news

There will be children’s special involvement in worship on Aug. 12 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Worship begins at 10:15 a.m.

Carnival day

The Palmerton Memorial Park Association will host its Annual Carnival Day at the Palmerton Pool from 1-5 p.m. Aug. 12. There will be lots of activities for the kids including a bounce house, pony rides, a dunk tank with the pool employees and more.

Palmerton VFW

The Palmerton Memorial Post 7134 will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 13. The meeting takes place at the VFW Post, 2020 Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. The group welcomes veterans to join them. They meet the second Monday of each month.

Palmerton library

The Palmerton Area Library Board of Directors will meet at 4 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Library, 402 Delaware Ave. Meetings are open to the public.

Class of 1955

Members of Palmerton Class of 1955 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at the ACaMia Restaurant, 433 Lehigh St., Walnutport. Questions call Dorothy at 610-826-4751.

Our Family History

Do you know who your family is? There’s a chance to find out. Go to the Palmerton Area Library at 402 Delaware Ave. from 6-7:30 p.m. Aug. 14 to find out. Learn how to research your family history.

Community meal

A free community meal will be served at St. John’s UCC, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, from 5-6:30 p.m. on Aug. 14. The menu is pork & sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, corn, and homemade desserts. Come and join together in food and fellowship. All are welcome.

The Compassionate Friends

The Compassionate Friends is a grief support group supporting family after the death of a child, grandchild or sibling. The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at the ambulance building, 501 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
