An Allentown man received three citations after he flipped his vehicle in Nesquehoning last week.
According to Nesquehoning police, officer Richard Neikam was dispatched to the top of Route 93 at approximately 11 p.m. on Aug. 3 for a single-vehicle crash.
He found a 2017 Ford Mustang on its roof a short distance into the woods while the driver, later identified as Alberto Pena of Lehigh Parkway, was standing outside the vehicle.
Neikam spoke with Pena, who was complaining of neck and head pain.
Pena told Neikam he was traveling north on Route 93 when he lost control of his vehicle. He was then taken by Lehighton Ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton for evaluation.
While inspecting the crash scene, Neikam noticed both rear tires of the Mustang were bald and below the wear bars, which along with the wet roadway from the rain contributed to the crash.
Marouchoc’s Auto towed the vehicle from the scene.
Pena was cited for tire equipment and traction surfaces.
Nesquehoning fire departments assisted at the scene.
