QB Hodor to be inducted into JT Hall
Robert Hodor graduated from Jim Thorpe Area High School in 1966.
He was the starting quarterback on the football team for three consecutive years, finishing in 1965 when his speed, signal-calling and temperament made him the perfect field general to lead the Olympians — under the direction of Hall of Fame Coach Angie Konstas — to its first winning football season at 6-2. It was also the first in a series of four P&B championships, symbolic of winning the championship in football for the Carbon County/Panther Valley area, in the next five years.
He played quarterback, defensive safety and kicked extra points on a team that also included Hall of Fame running backs Eddie Jordan and Mickey Paulus. And yet his versatility and durability not only had the local media recognize him as the best signal caller in the area but also had him elected as the Most Valuable Player on that 1965 team, which was also inducted into the Jim Thorpe Hall of Fame in 1999.
After graduation, he enrolled in the United States Coast Guard for four years where he was honorably discharged in 1972. He then enrolled in and graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1977.
Upon graduation and up to 2012, he spent the majority of his career at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, where he advanced to the Regional Director of Dialysis. He served in many executive positions and spent a term as President of the Board of the Renal Administrators Association of Pennsylvania.
He is married to Dr. Linda Augelli-Hodor and has two children, a daughter Sarah, and a son Nathan, who, with his wife Ashley, are the proud parents of their 15-month-old daughter Brynn Elise.
