Carbon businesses cited by PLCB

Three Carbon County businesses have been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the state liquor code.

Molly Maguire’s Pub & Steak House, 5 Hazard Square, Jim Thorpe, and Marco’s Pasta, Pizza & Subs, 10 W. Ridge St, Lansford, were both cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to a minor. Both offenses occurred on May 4.

Trails Lake & Tennis Club Inc., Bishop Circle, Box 244, Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, was cited during the period of Dec. 18, 2017, through April 30. The licensee failed to have their board-approved manager complete RAMP training within 180 days of the board’s approval of the appointment.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious ones. In addition, the judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
