State police at Lehighton are investigating the theft of a large amount of cash.

Troopers said an 85-year-old man from Kunkletown Road in Ross Township, Monroe County, reported the theft of $13,000 in cash. The money was in a white envelope with “Dave” written on it. The incident was reported at 10:35 a.m. on July 17.

Troopers said a suspect is identified in the case and the investigation is continuing.
