The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a flash flood watch for portions Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton and Schuylkill counties from 2 p.m. this afternoon through this evening

Showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and this evening across the region. Though not as much rain is expected as what we saw earlier this week, the ground is already saturated across the watch area, so any additional rainfall will quickly become runoff and could lead to flash flooding.
