Weak tornado touched down during Pennsylvania storm

ALLENTOWN (AP) — Weather officials say a weak tornado touched down during a weekend storm in eastern Pennsylvania and caused some damage.

The National Weather Service says the tornado rated EF-0 and packing a maximum estimated wind speed of 65 mph touched down shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday in Allentown’s Heidelberg Township suburb.

Officials say the tornado damaged trees and went through a cornfield before damaging metal roofing on a barn, but the damage was so sporadic that it may not have been on the ground for the entire path.

Authorities said earlier that two tornadoes struck northeast Pennsylvania last month, injuring six people and damaging more than a dozen businesses.
