DUQUESNE (AP) — Authorities say a stolen SUV being pursued by police and driven the wrong way on a Pennsylvania highway crashed head-on into a car, injuring the car’s driver.
Four people in the SUV fled the scene on foot following the crash that occurred early Tuesday on Route 837 in Duquesne. Authorities say it had been reported stolen in Pittsburgh, but further details were not disclosed.
Duquesne police tried to stop the SUV, but the brief pursuit ended when the vehicle — traveling north in the southbound lane of the highway — struck the car. A woman driving the car was being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries.
It wasn’t known if anyone in the SUV was injured in the crash. But authorities say three guns were found inside the vehicle.
