Franklin Twp. stays hot in PV tourney
Franklin Township grabbed two more wins to finish out pool play in the Panther Valley 11-12-year-old Little League Tournament.
In the 9-10-year-old Tournament, Franklin Township rolled to another victory to remain unbeaten.

Franklin White-Tri County Blue
Franklin Township closed out pool play in the West Division with a 15-1 win over Tri County Blue on Sunday.
Michael Gelatko went 4-for-4 with two RBIs for Franklin. Austin Greene (home run, four RBIs, run scored), Aiden Rarick, (double, three RBIs, two runs scored) and John Light (two RBIs, three runs scored, stolen base) all contributed two hits apiece.
Greene allowed just one hit while striking out six in four innings of work to earn the win.
Playoffs will begin Friday with the No. 3 seed playing at the No. 2 seed. The winner will play the top seed on Saturday.

Franklin Twp.-Jim Thorpe Red
Franklin Township pounded out 19 hits and rolled to an 18-0 win over Jim Thorpe on Friday.
Austin Greene went 4-for-4 with a triple, three runs scored and an RBI to pace the Franklin attack. Aiden Rarick doubled three times, drove in three runs and scored three times, while Brady O’Donnell (double, three runs scored, three RBIs) also added three hits. Dawson Keiser went 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored.
David Butler, Mike Strucko and Nick Schwartz (double) all had hits for Jim Thorpe.

Tamaqua Blue-Tri County
Tamaqua outlasted Tri County for a 14-12 victory on Friday.
Seth Karpulk, Denny Krell, Noah Steigerwalt and Logan Morgans had two hits apiece for Tamaqua. Chase Behr picked up the win, while Landon Kamant struck out the final batter to earn the save.
Panther Valley 9-10 Tournament
Towamensing-Franklin Maroon
Franklin Township remained undefeated with a 14-1 win over Towamensing on Saturday.
Carter Bellis, Cole Dietz and Konnor Nalesnik each had two hits and two runs scored to lead Franklin. Dietz allowed just one hit in four innings, while recording eight strikeouts to pick up the win.
Luke Matsko recorded Towamensing’s only hit.
BLUE MOUNTAIN LEAGUE Roseto Bandits-Berlinsville Braves
Berlinsville jumped on Roseto early en route to a 13-7 victory Saturday.
Corey Webb went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored for the Braves (10-14), who led 5-0 after two innings. Christian Kinsley (RBI, run scored), Kyle Buchman (three walks, four runs scored), Austin Mueller (two walks, two RBIs, two runs scored, stolen base) and Cody Krupa (double, four RBIs, walk, run scored) all had two hits apiece for Berlinsville.

BABE RUTH
13-15 STATE TOURNAMENT
Lansford-Broomall/Newton
Lansford won its opening game in the Babe Ruth State Tournament in Williamsport on Friday. It defeated Broomall/Newton in the opening game of pool play competition, 3-2.
Derek Pavlik pitched a complete game gem and was aided by outstanding defense behind him for Lansford.
Julian Rickert had a hit, a run scored and an RBI to lead the way offensively.
Gavin Garcia and Michael Pascoe both turned in outstanding defensive plays during the game.
SENIOR BABE RUTH
Weatherly-Hazle Twp.
Weatherly edged Hazle Twp. 10-8.
Jeremy Moser and David Stratchko both had a single and double for Weatherly, while AJ Knepper added two singles.
