July 7, 1951 — Dick Smith collects two hits and scores three runs to help Slatington rally for an 8-6 Tri-County League victory over Lansford. Trailing by a run, Slatington comes through with four tallies in the ninth to pull out the win. Smith starts the comeback with a walk and eventually scores on a two-run single by Bruce Follweiler. A balk plates the go-ahead run, while Bill Garrity adds an insurance run with his RBI single. Follweiler, Garrity and Henry Oncheck finish with two hits apiece, with Dean Cunfer adding a hit and two runs. Lansford receives three hits from Bob Piscelli.
