Franklin Township won its first two games in the District 18 9-11-year-old Little League Tournament.

Tamaqua-Franklin Twp.

Varick Peiffer and Derek Behler led the Franklin Township 11-Year-Old All-Stars to a 20-6 win over Tamaqua Tuesday night, advancing them to the winners bracket final of the 9-11-Year-Old Tournament.

Peiffer pitched to all but one batter in the game and went 3-for-4 at the plate with six RBIs. Behler was 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs. Also contributing were Jake Lewis (1-for-4), Aidan Albert (2-for-3), Blake Roberts (1-for-1), Kieler Kemmerer (1-for-1), and Jesse Waksmunski (2-for-2).

Hazleton-Franklin Twp.

Varick Peiffer led Franklin to an 8-6 win over Hazleton on Saturday.

Peiffer went 2-for-4 with an RBI while also pitching two strong innings. Peiffer was relieved by Blake Roberts and later Keyden Ahner to hold the lead. Derek Behler, Braylon DeJesus, Seth Smith and Isaac Carpenter all added hits.
