Franklin, Tamaqua stay alive in D-18 LL Tourney
Franklin Township and Tamaqua both stayed alive in the District 18 10-12 Little League Tournament. The two teams will meet in a loser’s bracket game in the double elimination tournament on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Franklin Township.

Freeland-Franklin Township
A three-run rally in the bottom of the fourth inning lifted Franklin Township to a 7-6 win over Freeland on Sunday in District 18 10-12-year-old Little League action.
Owen Serfass (RBI) and Michael Yeakel (triple) had two hits apiece for Franklin, which built a 4-0 lead in the first inning before Freeland took a 6-4 lead. Austin Greene homered, scored a run and had three RBIs for Franklin. Aiden Rarick and Dawson Keiser also added hits and drove in one run apiece.

Jim Thorpe-Franklin Township
Franklin Township surged past Jim Thorpe for a 10-5 win on Friday.
Michael Gelatko had a double among his three hits and drove in three runs for Franklin, which erased a 2-1 deficit with six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead. Aiden Rarick (double, three RBIs) and Austin Greene (double, two RBIs) each had two hits for Franklin.
Noah Rosahac and Tanner Yurchak had two hits apiece for Jim Thorpe. Ian Henkels and Conner Patton had hits and two RBIs apiece.

Tamaqua-Valley East
Tamaqua got a combined no-hitter from Zander Coleman and Chase Andrews as it rolled to a 14-0 loser’s bracket victory over Valley East in a District 18 10-12-year-old Little League game on Sunday.
Coleman also had a big day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two home runs.
Mason Ligenza and Brian Hinkle both had three hits for Tamaqua while Andrews, Cooper Ansbach and Cian McLaughlin all chipped in two hits. Ligenza and Hinkle had extra base hits included in their performances as Tamaqua pounded out 17 hits in the game.
District 18 8-10
Franklin Township-JT Blue
Jayse Lawrence and Cole Dietz combined for a three-hit shutout as Franklin Township posted a 9-0 victory over Jim Thorpe Blue.
Lawrence and Dietz combined to strike out nine batters in the win, which advances Franklin to Monday’s District 18 8-10-year-old South championship game against unbeaten Towamensing.
Dietz had two hits and three runs scored, while Lawrence also chipped in with two hits and two RBIs. Aiden Solt and Zoltan Bedocs also had hits for Franklin.
LV LEGION
Carbon-Northern Valley
Carbon rolled to a 14-7 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over Northern Valley on Saturday.
Daniel Keer went 4-for-6 with two triples and three RBIs for the Monarchs. Bradley Buzzard (double, triple, three RBIs), Collin Haupt (three RBIs) and Michael Bozilesky (two runs scored, walk) all had three hits.
Jake Haas was 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored for the Chargers. Eric Nothstein and Mason Vogwill had two hits apiece.

Bangor-Jim Thorpe
Jared Joyce delivered a walk-off hit to propel Jim Thorpe to a 7-6 Lehigh Valley Connie Mack win over Bangor on Saturday.
Ian Hubbard and James Lordi each had RBI hits in the fifth to tie the game at 6-6. Spencer Hunsicker, who scored the winning run on Joyce’s hit, went 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored to lead Thorpe’s offensive attack. Hunsicker also stole three bases in the contest.
Lordi was the winning pitcher in relief, throwing two hitless innings, and striking out four.
Jim Thorpe finishes the regular season with a 12-6 record, and will now wait to learn seedings for the league playoffs, which begin Monday, July 9.

Nazareth scored five runs in the fifth to top Jim Thorpe 7-3 in a game that took place on Friday.
Garrett Holloway and Spencer Hunsicker each had RBI hits for Jim Thorpe. Colin Binder gave up only one unearned run in four innings of work, but took the loss.

Bethlehem Steel rallied to top Berlinsville 8-7 in a Blue Mountain League game.
Julian Lopez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and two runs scored for the Steel (8-12).
Jake Augustus (two RBIs, two stolen bases, run scored) and Matt Minchhoff (RBI, stolen base, run scored) both had two hits for the Braves (8-12).
