State police: Man driving stolen car leads troopers on chase

SOUTH WHITEHALL (AP) — Pennsylvania state police say a Delaware man driving a stolen car led troopers on a 20-mile chase and rammed a police vehicle before he was finally captured.

Blaise Ironstand faces numerous counts following Sunday’s chase, which authorities say started when the 22-year-old Wilmington man fled a traffic stop in South Whitehall. The chase then went up the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike before troopers used “a pursuit intervention technique” to stop the car.

No injuries were reported in the chase.

Ironstand is charged with aggravated assault, receiving stolen property, fleeing or attempting to elude police and other counts. It wasn’t known Tuesday if he’s retained an attorney.
