A look back: June 25, 1964

The Panther Valley Joint School Board last night voted to grant Nesquehoning the right to vote on all issues before the joint board at this time and to amend articles of agreement to integrate Nesquehoning pupils with the rest of the students in the joint system.

Nesquehoning will retain the kindergarten through sixth grade, with the sixth grade of the jointure being in Nesquehoning. Kindergarten and first grade will be in all the towns of the jointure and the second, third, fourth and fifth grades of Lansford, Summit Hill and Coaldale will be in the Coaldale building, while seventh, eighth and ninth grades, including Nesquehoning, will be in Summit Hill.

The 10th, 11th and 12th grades of the jointure will be located in the Lansford building.
