A Lehighton man was arrested following the robbery of a Lehigh County gas station on Friday morning.
Hector Santiago-Quinonez, 27, allegedly entered a Sunoco gas station in New Tripoli late in the morning, wearing a skull mask and an orange sweater. Santiago-Quinonez placed a note on the counter demanding the cashier empty the cash register and give him the money, which she did. The amount of cash handed over was undetermined.
Santiago-Quinonez fled the scene in what the employee identified as a silver/green Dodge Caravan, which traveled north on Route 100.
A witness followed the vehicle and provided registration information to the police, who were able to track Santiago-Quinonez to his residence in Lehighton.
State police from Bethlehem took Santiago-Quinonez into custody at his place of residence without incident, charging him with robbery and theft.
