The Democratic Party of Carbon County held its reorganizational convention recently at the Hill Top Community Center, Summit Hill, where Billy O’Gurek Jr., of Summit Hill, was re-elected to his third four-year term as the party chairman.
Recently-elected committee men and committee women from each of the county’s 51 election districts participated in the voting process.
In addition to leading the party’s county-wide activities, O’Gurek will join attorney Carol Walbert on the Pennsylvania Democratic Party State Committee. Other officers are William O’Gurek of Summit Hill, treasurer; Joann Behrens of Penn Forest Township, elected to succeed Judy Moon as the party’s vice chairperson, who retired from the post after eight years; and Patty Vito of Nesquehoning, secretary.
