Teen struck in Jim Thorpe hit-and-run

A 15-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on Saturday between 8 and 9 p.m. on Maple Street on the east side of the community.

In a press release, police did not identify the victim, nor the extent of his injuries.

Police said he was struck by a dark-colored sedan that had tinted back windows. The suspect vehicle is described as having a dark primer paint or spray can paint on it.

Police said after striking the boy, the driver of the vehicle turned around and proceeded towards East Fifth Street.

Police are asking homeowners who may have surveillance cameras to check for the suspect vehicle on the date and time listed above. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact police at 570-325-4995.
